Navratri – Festival of Peace and Prosperity, Wealth and Happiness.

navratriNavratri is the sacred and joyous festival of the Hindu community of India. Observed over a period of nine nights, the festival is famous almost throughout the country for its religious and social importance. It is devoted to the worship of the divine Mother in various forms under different names by different people.

The hindu festival Navratri is dedicated to the worship of Shakti. This festival stretches over nine days or ten days, during which nine forms of Shakti and Devi are worshipped. The beginning of spring and beginning of autumn are two periods which are taken as sacred opportunities for the worship of divine mother. The dates of the festival are determined according to the lunar calendar and vary each year.
Nava means “nine” and “ratri” means night. During the nine-night long festival of Navratri the supreme female cosmic power or Goddess Shakti is worshipped in her variously manifested forms as Durga, Laxmi and Saraswati. Navratri is dedicated to the feminine nature of the divine. Durga, Lakshmi and Saraswati are symbols of three dimensions of feminine.
Those who aspire for power and immortality, strength will worship the forms of feminism which can be referred as Kali or Mother Earth. Those who aspire for wealth, passion for life and various other things that the material world has to offer naturally will aspire towards the form of feminism which is referred to as Lakshmi or the Sun. And those who aspire for knowledge, knowing and transcending the limitations of mortal body will aspire for that aspect of feminine which is referred to Saraswati or Moon.
Like any other Hindu festival, Navratri has a spiritual message for its observers. This nine-day festival celebrates the triumph of good over evil and exhorts mankind to wake up from the slumber of ignorance, remove all negativity, purify the mind and cultivate positive virtues. This alone can help one gain the necessary spiritual knowledge to transcend all earthly limitations and achieve salvation – the highest goal of human life.
To approach these nine days, and every other aspect of life in a celebratory way is most important. If you approach everything in a celebratory way, you learn to be non-serious about life but absolutely involved.

Hearts@work – Zenitex and Gateway Ladies Club, Surat, Celebrated World Environment Day 2016 In A Distinctive Way

Sunday, 5th June 2016, was World Environment Day. It has been celebrated since 1973 in order to raise the global awareness about the importance of the healthy and green environment in human lives, to solve the environmental issues by implementing some positive environmental actions as well as to make aware common public worldwide that everyone is responsible for saving his environment and not only somebody, government or organizations working for it.

We at Hearts@work a Zenitex Initiative are continuously working in this direction of Environmental Protection. Sunday, 5th June 2016 too, we celebrated the “World Environment Day” in a unique way. As pledged, we would be planting trees throughout the year wherever, we will find place for planting and people who are willing to take care of the trees for at least six months to one year until the young plants are strong enough to take care of themselves on their own.  To inaugurate the Campaign of “Clean India – Green India”, Hearts@work team led by Mr. Viral S. Desai, Founder of Hearts@work and CEO of Zenitex, along with Committee Members of Gateway Ladies Club, Surat, namely Mrs. Yashaswiniben Jariwala, Mrs. Jugesh Kohli and Mrs. Anju Sethi, visited “Vrundavan Ranchhoddas Popawala Children Home” in Surat. The beautiful campus of the Children Home was chosen as the venue of the inauguration of the campaign. There, along with the kids of the Children Home, 175 trees were planted. During the interaction, the children there were found to be very well mannered, energetic and passionate.

Since, children are the future and the future is for them, it was an apt location wherein, the kids got involved enthusiastically and wholeheartedly in the tree planting programme. Moreover, they pledged their support and promised that they will take care of these plants and see them grow in to full grown trees.

World Environment Day annual celebration campaign was started worldwide to address the huge environmental issues like wastage of food, deforestation, increasing global warming, extinction of fossil fuels, focusing on forest management, reducing greenhouse effects, promoting bio-fuels production by planting on degraded lands, use of hydro-power to enhance electricity production, encourage common public to use solar energy and production through solar sources, developing new drainage systems and promoting mangroves restoration in order to get prevented from flooding and erosion and other ways of environmental protection.

It is celebrated to spread awareness amongst common public about the environmental issues, encourage common people from different society and communities to actively participate and become an active agent in developing environmental safety measures, let them know that community is very essential to inhibit negative changes towards the environmental issues and encourage people to make their nearby surroundings safe and clean to enjoy safer, clean and more prosperous future.

We at Hearts@work and Zenitex, call upon all responsible citizens to come and “Join us to a true commitment to our environment – Join us in the serenity of leaving to our children a planet in equilibrium” – “Join the race to make the world a better place”.

A few refreshing and encouraging quotes for all readers to change their modes to Action Mode:

  • “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has”. – Margaret Mead
  • “We won’t have a society if we destroy the environment”. – Margaret Mead
  • “Earth provides enough to satisfy every man’s needs, but not every man’s greed”. – Mahatma Gandhi
  • “What we are doing to the forests of the world is but a mirror reflection of what we are doing to ourselves and to one another”. – Mahatma Gandhi

Entrepreneur Viral Desai Walks The Ramp As a Celebrity Show Stopper for Designer Shilpa Chaurasiya

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Mumbai, May, 2016: City based famous fashion and design institute B. D. Somani (Institute of Art and Fashion Technology) had organized ‘Silhouttes 2016 : Internationally Desi’ on 8th May, 2016, Sunday, at Sanmukhananda Auditorium in Sion (E), Mumbai. This is the largest and a very popular Fashion Show being organized by any fashion institute in India.

Top Fashion Industry Personalities like Fashion Guru – Mr. Hemant Trivedi, CMAI Chairman – Mr. Rahul Mehta, Guests of Honour Dr. Ela Dedhia, Ms. Meher Castelino, Ms. Archana Kochhar, Mr. Amit Goyal, Mr. Dipesh Shah, Mr. Rajesh Masand and Mr. Naren Mukhi were present at the show. Also, top Fashion Models (Female and Male) many of whom were Miss India Finalists and who are regular faces in Fashions shows such as Lakme Fashion Week and other high profile Fashion shows alike, put the ramp on fire with their style and looks.

Significantly, it could be the 1st time that a Business Icon, Mr. Viral Sudhir Desai CEO of Zenitex, Surat, Gujarat, walked the ramp as a Celebrity Show Stopper for Designer Shilpa Chaurasiya. Garments showcased by Shilpa Chaurasiya are known as Bandhani and Bandhej which are identified as Heritage and Pride of Gujarat and are considered as a Lucky Charm amongst Wedding Apparels. This clothing line will be manufactured in Rural Gujarat, where the original artists dwell. This will uplift the standard of their living, thus following the approach of sustainability.

Usually Brand Endorsements for different causes are done by Celebrities. However, this was a unique occasion when a Business Icon was made the Brand Ambassador to pass on the goodwill message of Sustainability, Energy Conservation, Environmental Protection and Community Welfare initiatives of Cancer Check-up Camps and other Social Responsibility initiatives for other aspiring Entrepreneurs. B. D. Somani is an institute which has always been instrumental in spreading the message for sustainability, energy conservation, environmental protection and social services by implementing these values in their designing methods.

Alongside Mr. Viral Desai, as show stoppers, other designers had actors like Husain Kuwajerwala and Hrishita Bhatt. In the past even John Abraham and Vicky Donor fame Ayushman Khurana have participated in this show.

Till now Sustainability was understood and implemented by developed countries only. However, with the changing scenario on the environmental front, issues such as global warming, acute water shortage, growing population, illnesses related to polluted air and fading energy resources have sprung up. Owing to which even in India a slow transformation for a change has begun. Due to which Business Celebrities like Mr. Viral Desai who are active in environmental protection and energy conservation drives and have made constant contributions to this cause and have taken the mantle of enlightening the coming generations in such a way that it will preserve a healthy environment for the future generations to come, was selected to be a Brand Ambassador. By getting the brands endorsed by Business Celebrities like him and making them brand ambassadors, will encourage the new entrepreneurs walk the path of Successful Business, based on Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection techniques. Such Brand Ambassadors are the need of the hour. The society has begun to recognize this breed of entrepreneurs and have started to inspire them for a better future.

Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modiji has positively launched “Make In India” Initiative. Hence, to attract foreign investments to Brand India, we need to highlight Brand Ambassadors like Mr. Viral Desai, who are implementing Sustainability, Green Energy, Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection in their business practices. These Business Celebrities can be the actual Brand Ambassadors for “Make In India!” These brand ambassadors are not endorsing for money but the monetary benefits that they receive, they donate it for the social causes, thus making a big difference on the society at large.

Today leaders from 160 countries will officially sign the Paris Climate Agreement on Earth Day 2016.

The deal was thrashed out in Paris last December in order to stem global warming.

The signing makes this year’s Earth Day one of the most important in years, and the organisers will be attempting to build on the momentum created by last year’s Paris Climate Summit.

“Earth Day is the largest, most recognizable face of the environmental movement,” said Kathleen Rogers, president of the Earth Day Network.

During the Paris talks world leaders agreed to keep global warming below 1.5 degrees Celsius, with developed countries providing $100 billion of public and private finance to help developing countries by 2020.

The organizers behind Earth Day, which occurs annually on April 22, are hoping to use the 2016 celebration to plant 7.8 billion trees, divest from fossil fuels and make cities 100 per cent renewable.

“Let’s take the momentum from here and build on it. Let’s start now. And let’s not stop.”

Activities associated with the day often include planting trees, raising awareness about recycling, volunteering for green projects, and reducing the amount of energy people consume.

Earth Day is supported by a host of celebrities, including Oscar Winner Leonardo Di Caprio, Emma Watson, Miley Cyrus and Matt Damon.

We are pleased to announce today, that Zenitex and its Social Responsibility / Community Welfare Initiative “Hearts@work” foundation has planned a Mega Tree Planting Event on 5th June 2016 in and around Surat. Whereby, 20,000 trees will be planted on 5th June 2016 itself and another 80,000 Trees will be planted upto 4th June 2017, thus, making a total of 100,000 trees in a year. We will be repeating this initiative for 3 consecutive years and have targeted to plant 300,000 trees in coming three years, just to start with.

We seek support from all the individuals, natives, communities, organizations and educational institutes to come forward and join us in this Green Drive and make it a success for us and our coming generations and most importantly for “Mother Nature”.

Lets’ not sit in the luxury of our homes and just discuss the issue. Lets’ wake up, lets’ get up and walk to make the difference.

Planting Trees is the best and the most easiest solution to control “Climate Change”, “Global Warming”, “Melting Oceans”, “Soil Erosion” and “Water Scarcity”.

BEWARE!!!! If we don’t; Then consequences are FRIGHTENING even just to think about it.

Contact us if you wish to plant a single tree or number of trees in your society campus, in your villa backyards, in your schools’ / colleges’ / universities’ playground and campuses, on your hospitals’ and clinics’ campuses, in fact, anywhere where you can plant a tree and take care of it. And we will provide you the same on 5th June ’16 and onwards. You can contact us by sending an email on and While sending your emails KINDLY mention in the subject line “WE ARE HEARTS@WORK – WE WISH TO GO GREEN – +91 _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _”, also please mention your mobile number in the subject line as shown in the example. This will enable us notice the email immediately and take action and get in touch with you.

Just give it a second and visualize, if each individual plants one single tree every year, throughout India, we will have 1 Billion new trees every year. WOW! That’s sounds satisfying. Come Friends, Come Comrades, Come beloved Teachers and Professionals, WELCOME EVERYONE!

“The Earth” belongs to all of us – Nature we call it “Mother Nature” – Then Come, Lets’ take care of it responsibly”.

Meanwhile just implying any of the below suggestions to make a start today itself, a start to make the difference.

  1. Once in a Week – Walk to work, Cycle or take public transport. Start carpooling for at least 2 days of a week.
  2. Use a reusable coffee cup – avoid destructive disposables
  3. Go paperless – use the technology which will “Save Trees”
  4. Take a Tote / Carry bag to the shop or grocers or vegetable markets
  5. Go meat or dairy free at least once a week
  6. Carry a reusable water bottle
  7. Buy local produce
  8. Invest in a solar-powered phone charger (at least)
  9. Support “Tree Plantations Drive” Wherever it is.

Keeping in mind the ‘World Forest Day & World Water Day’ A field trip was organized jointly by BY DR. S. & S. S. GHANDHY COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY, SURAT and ZENITEX, SURAT.

zenitex viral desai dr s. & s. s. ghandhy college world water day world forest day 47

This was a unique and first of its kind field visit in India. Wherein, a routine part of the syllabus field trip by college students was amalgamated with Environmental Protection and Energy Conservation initiatives. Zenitex was bustling with 26 young students from Dr. S. & S. S. Ghandhy College of Engineering and Technology. What was supposed to be a regular day, turned in to a delightful experience.

Since, the trip was organized to coordinate with ‘World Water Day & World Forest Day’, gave us the impetus to add these students on the list of environmental protectionists and nature lovers. The whole activity was designed in such a way that firstly they were taken across the processing plant and along with it they were educated about various techniques implemented by Zenitex for ‘Water Conservation’ and ‘Energy Conservation’. For Water Conservation we have implemented ‘Rain Water Harvesting’; ‘Drip Irrigation’; ‘Water Scrubber’ and ‘ETP’, and various measures and innovations have been implemented to Conserve Energy, like reduction in Carbon Emission, Using recycled water for production, reduction in use of Electricity inside the plant and on campus in general, and tree plantations in support of Environmental Protection and a Greener Future.

To encourage the students, and make them a part of the ‘Go Green” world campaign. A Tree Plantation event was also executed at Zenitex campus.  More than 30 trees were planted, most of them being planted by the students themselves. This inculcated in them the need of Trees and brought them close to Nature and thus they pledged their support for the ‘Go Green’ world campaign and promised that they will themselves be actively involved in such activities and will also encourage their fellow students and friends to be a part of this Green Brigade which will help us ‘Save The Earth’.

We appreciate the devoutness of Dr. S. & S.S. Ghandhy College of Engineering & Technology, its administration and faculty for their genuinely imbibing the core values of education and its duties towards mankind and nature, which was reflected in the positive and optimistic approach of its students. And the interest shown by its management in joining hands with Zenitex & Hearts@work in their Social Responsibility / Community Welfare activities and Tree Plantation – Go Green initiatives and training of its students by signing an MoU, which in itself is an exceptional move. The MoU is expected to be signed by next week, details of which we will share with our readers shortly.

Moreover, it was a pleasure to host such enthusiastic and zealous students. They had questions and curiousness about most of the things on the campus. The students were accompanied by  Shri Rameshbhai G. Patel, H.O.D. Textile Processing Department along with Professor Shri Pavanbhai Panwala. To assist them around the campus, in to the processing unit and for tree plantation, Mr. Bhavik Naik, General Manager – Zenitex, Mr. Mohammed Nasir, PA to Mr. Viral Desai, CEO-Zenitex, Mr. K. C. Sahoo, Chief Engineer – Zenitex and other department heads were with them throughout their visit.

Finally the students met Mr. Viral Desai, CEO-Zenitex, who had a few words of inspiration and wisdom to charge the tempo of the bright students. Mr. Viral Desai, advised them to be humble and true to their duties and responsibilities and put their heart in to everything they do and success will surely follow. In the end he told them that “If you take care of Nature – Nature has its own unique way of giving back in abundance” and hence, appealed to them to take care of Nature and keep on growing more and more trees and to Save Water so that it lasts for us a little longer.

Women’s Day Message by Viral Desai, CEO – Zenitex

Ode to Women on Womens Day

International Women’s Day is celebrated the world over, every year on the 8th day of March. It celebrates womanhood and pays tribute to the indomitable spirit of women across the globe.

The 2016 theme for International Women’s Day is “Planet 50-50 by 2030: Step It Up for Gender Equality”. The United Nations is encouraging the world to envision a world where women and girls can have the freedom and ease of choice to participate in politics, get an education, have an income, and — an area I hold dear to my heart — live in a society free from violence and discrimination.

The tradition sees men honouring their mothers, wives, girlfriends, colleagues, etc with flowers and small gifts. In some countries it has the same status as of Mother’s Day where children give small presents to their mothers and grandmothers.

Investing in Women is Ensuring Prosperity :
When you empower a woman, you elevate her community. This is the core concept behind many of the public diplomacy efforts: a ripple effect occurs when we believe in women and invest in their potential. By providing women entrepreneurs access to training, mentors, and networks, we directly supports the goals of advancing women’s efforts to become financially independent through entrepreneurship and utilize their economic strength to improve their communities around the world.

Every day, we read about women and girls around the world who are victims of heinous violence. From Iraqi women abducted and enslaved by ISIS to Nigerian schoolgirls kidnapped and forced into marriage to a Girl Students in India gang raped and tortured to death, these tragedies seem to belong to medieval times. We should remember that even they are somebody’s daughter, sister, wife or mother and it can be anybody.

I’d like to propose a different headline, a different narrative. While their work may not always make the front pages, women are confronting our most pressing global issues. At great personal risk, they are fighting poverty, discrimination, and violence so that their families, communities, and countries can have better lives.

As an entrepreneur I see the power of women every day in every place that I visit – they are creating opportunities for the next generations of women.

On Women’s day I pay my tributes to Women around the world and in India who work to advance peace, security, and gender equality. And their individual stories represent the positive impact that empowered women can make everywhere.

So, we will not retreat in the face of those who seek to diminish or banish women and girls to the margins of society. We do not accept rape as a by-product of conflict or indifferences. We will not accept the forced marriage of girls as a social norm. And we will not forget those who have been or are being held against their will. Instead, we honour them for the courage they show in the face of brutality and intimidation.

In February, World Bank had asked in a poll what do you wish for International Women’s Day? Answers were 42% want to see gender equality. 31% said they wanted women’s empowerment, and 27% wished for women’s human rights.

I think all three issues are critical — primarily because they can’t stand alone. A woman with rights is one who feels empowered to compete in an equal world.

As Gandhiji said : “Intellectually, mentally, and spiritually, a woman is equivalent to a man and she can participate in every activity”.

In Modern Indian society women are playing stellar roles. More importantly their role in family building, society development is stupendous. Indian woman is emerging out of their conventional role, realizing their unlimited potential and have begun to take major role in all walks of life. If India is to be a superpower, then surely we need a significant contribution from these great women.

I personally feel that a woman is intelligent, understanding, beautiful, gentle, motherly and powerful. What can be more powerful than Nature and hence, even Nature is lovingly addressed as Mother Nature. Because it is a Woman who brings life. She is the chosen one by the creator to bring life in to this world.

viral desai zenitex womens day quote

While concluding this message, I would like to share with you all, two small videos showing how much does a woman sacrifice and thus she truly deserves respect, it is in Hindi titled “Woman’s Respect”. And for our friends in the Middle-East, we have made a similar video with the title in Arabic meaning “Girl is Happiness” in Arabic.

We are pleased and happy to announce that Zenitex and its implementation of 360 degree Sustainability makes it to Fibre2fashion Magazine’s online feature. We thank Fibre2fashion team lead by Mr. Savan Gajjar and Mr. Jigar Shelat for supporting, acknowledging and publishing our ideas and our philosophy in their well-known magazine. (Please Visit sustainability)

We at Zenitex feel extremely honoured to be featured in the prestigious “Enhanced Sustainability–A Leap Forward” segment (visit http://www.Fibre2Fashion-Enhanced-Sustainability_Compedium), with global giants like Novozymes, Reliance, Aditya Birla Group, Indofil, Coats, Birla Cellulose, GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) to name a few in the world’s largest B2B textile portal Fibre2fashion. Global Warming and Climate Change has alarmed everyone. Concerned topmost Global Companies are implementing the sustainability module to reduce the impact. It is a unique platform to encourage and inspire the initiatives of sustainability by featured companies.

Zenitex takes inspiration from the support received from media in highlighting our way of working and intends to do more and more better.

Before a couple of days the world celebrated Oscars 2016 wherein, we would like to point out the achievement of Mr. Leonardo DiCaprio who won the Best Actor Award. It shows great passion and love for a thing which one remembers in his time of Glory. Like Leo remembered our Planet, ‘The Earth’ in his thanksgiving speech. He was right to point out that “Climate change is real. It is happening right now. It is the most urgent threat facing our entire species.” And the lines with which he ended with is a wakeup call for all of us, in which he said “Let us not take this planet for granted. I do not take tonight for granted.”

We at Zenitex are always aligned with those celebrities and non-celebrities too who work for the nature and who pursue the goal of a greener world for our future generations.

For Zenitex Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection is a vital spoke in the 3 spoked wheel of 360 degree sustainability, the other two being ‘employee welfare and safety’ and ‘social responsibilities / community services’.

Zenitex works for Trees and persuades each and all to Go Green in whatever limited way one can. Small changes do make big differences, small steps do cover long distances and like from ‘a tiny acorn do mighty oaks grow’! We consider ourselves as the tiny acorn when it comes to going Green, which has been sowed in our philosophy and our actions and with the passionate and fervent nurturing by our CEO Mr. Viral Desai we envision to become the mighty oak which will spread in all the directions and with it the greenery.

Thanks & Regards – Team ZENITEX
