Somani (Institute of Art and Fashion Technology) had organized ‘Silhouttes 2016 : Internationally Desi’ on 8th May, 2016, Sunday, at Sanmukhananda Auditorium in Sion (E), Mumbai. This is the largest and a very popular Fashion Show being organized by any fashion institute in India.
Top Fashion Industry Personalities like Fashion Guru – Mr. Hemant Trivedi, CMAI Chairman – Mr. Rahul Mehta, Guests of Honour Dr. Ela Dedhia, Ms. Meher Castelino, Ms. Archana Kochhar, Mr. Amit Goyal, Mr. Dipesh Shah, Mr. Rajesh Masand and Mr. Naren Mukhi were present at the show. Also, top Fashion Models (Female and Male) many of whom were Miss India Finalists and who are regular faces in Fashions shows such as Lakme Fashion Week and other high profile Fashion shows alike, put the ramp on fire with their style and looks.
Significantly, it could be the 1st time that a Business Icon, Mr. Viral Sudhir Desai CEO of Zenitex, Surat, Gujarat, walked the ramp as a Celebrity Show Stopper for Designer Shilpa Chaurasiya. Garments showcased by Shilpa Chaurasiya are known as Bandhani and Bandhej which are identified as Heritage and Pride of Gujarat and are considered as a Lucky Charm amongst Wedding Apparels. This clothing line will be manufactured in Rural Gujarat, where the original artists dwell. This will uplift the standard of their living, thus following the approach of sustainability.
Usually Brand Endorsements for different causes are done by Celebrities. However, this was a unique occasion when a Business Icon was made the Brand Ambassador to pass on the goodwill message of Sustainability, Energy Conservation, Environmental Protection and Community Welfare initiatives of Cancer Check-up Camps and other Social Responsibility initiatives for other aspiring Entrepreneurs.
